Barcodes let scientists track every ant in a colony

60 weeks of preparation revealed ants progress from inside the nest nursing to foraging as they age. Scientists presumably also learned the best way to stick barcodes to ants.

This isn’t the first time scientists have used barcode tech in animal tracking.
