With the release of the Blackberry PlayBook, RIM’s tablet device, part of the setup of the connection between tablet and smartphone [called Blackberry Bridge] is completed via the use of a QR Code. The pairing process is facilitated by a scanning a QR Code from the tablets display with the handset you want to pair to.
The process for completing the connection is detailed in an illustration on the users Blackberry handset [above].
This is a more elegant solution to the usual ‘0000’ Bluetooth or the Apple style pincode method, it feels like a much less technical and more approachable process. It also introduces users to those features and enhancements they can provide.
